San Francisco based company Bandago is the first vehicle rental company to offer E-bike rentals as an add on to a rental vehicle, enabling customers to explore destinations when they arrive, and have the time of their lives doing so.
Bandago Van Rental is taking road trips to the next level by becoming the first vehicle rental company to offer e-bike rentals as an add-on to rental vans.
"Bandago already offers the best rental experience in the industry, but in today's climate customers are looking for ways to get more out of their road trip. That's where our E-bike rental service comes in. We make adding E-bikes to your van a piece of cake - just put it on the rack we provide, or in the cargo hold, and away you go. This allows you to travel to distant destinations with the people you know and love, while giving you the flexibility to explore the world in the funnest way possible when you arrive." says Sharky Laguana, founder of Bandago Van Rental.
Sharky says Bandago has already launched the E-bike rental service in San Francisco, California, and plans to roll the service out to all of Bandago's 12 locations throughout the United States over the next six to eight months.
"With RadPower's best in class e-bikes, customers have a greater ability to explore the city, local parks, music festivals, or more easily run quick errands when they get to their destination. E-bikes are a game-changer for the road trip experience," explains Sharky.
Bandago Van Rental utilizes the incredibly popular RadPower RadRunner, which has been at the forefront of electric vehicle technology development from high capacity lithium-ion batteries to E-bike status gauges. The RadPower RadRunner Electric Utility Bike features a single-speed drivetrain, which is ideal for new riders or those just looking to cruise and explore more paths, wander through historic areas, and take in the culture and art of every location.
The electric utility bike has a low-step frame design of 16.5" stand-over height, making it perfect for riders of all sizes. It has a rigid front fork that is stable and responsive, providing ultimate control to zipping around town. Its dual leg kickstand allows increased stability when loading cargo or when passengers jump on the rear. The game-changing product also showcases an integrated brake light. Powered by the main battery, the bright light allows people to know riders are coming to a stop.
While customers don't need a bike rack to rent the e-bikes (there is room in many vans to store them inside), Sharky said the company recommends adding a bike rack to the rental package. He says Bandago offers the 1UP Equip-D Double bike rack, a fixed two bike system that's fully loaded with a built-in anti-wobble mechanism, rapid tilt handle, and folding mechanism for a smaller footprint, and the rack arms close to secure tires without touching the frame.
A known figure in the rental car industry, Sharky serves as the President of the American Car Rental Association, and the President of the Small Business Commission of San Francisco. He is on the advisory board of Fetii (Austin-based ride sharing service), and has advised various other tech and travel startups.
Sharky was also the founder, guitarist, and co-songwriter for the indie rock band Creeper Lagoon, which issued various critically acclaimed records on Dreamworks in the late 1990s. In fact, it was his experience renting vans while on tour that led him to found Bandago Van Rental in 2003 with the mission of making the rental experience more affordable and reliable for bands. Bandago is now the primary provider of Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and 15 passenger vans to the music industry, and has supported tens of thousands of bands and musical acts across the country.
